Korean Skincare Routine

Hey Luvs! Bonnie here!🌻

Tbh, I dont know what made me impulsively buy all of these products but I do remember reading somewhere about the 7-15 Korean skin care regimen that peaked my interest. So, I figured I’ll try it out myself!

I’ll be doing (2) parts on this post part 1 where I’ll breakdown the skin care regimen and the products I’ll be using and Part 2 will be my final review.

So, from my understanding the regimen is all personalized and depends on what you feel comfortable with/what works best for you. I decided to follow the entire (10) steps  and decided to have it as a night time regimen (since I dont really have much time in the day time)

The steps are a lot more than I expected however, I will add and takeaway steps as I see fit for my skin whilst still following the basics of it.

  1. First Cleanse / Oil Cleanser

I’m not quite sure why this step isnt added into the visual above? but before washing your face of impurities you want to eliminate anything you have on your face e.g makeup and/or creams

Using: The Faceshop Rice Water Oil Cleanser

I do use makeup remover wipes to remove my makeup first and then use this oil cleanser to make extra sure that my makeup is completely off but again, its all up to you and what comfortable with!

Step 2:  Second Cleanse /  Water-Based Cleanser

Gentle cleanser gets rid of any residue from the Oil Cleanser and removes  impurities all together

Using: The Faceshop Rice Water Cleansing Foam

I went from using Neautrogena to these gentle cleansers and you can definitely tell the massive difference between how gentle these cleansers are to the skin

Step 2a: Exfoliate

Essentially you want to strip off any dead skin cells mingling on your skin habitually to prevent build up, clogged pores, dull skin and even acne.

(exfoliate once or twice a week)

Using: Skinfood Black Sugar Mask

A home-made exfoliator with organic honey and brown sugar which works just as good

Step 3: Toner

Toners restores and  balances your skins PH levels, shrinks pores. refreshes skin and moisturizes.

Using: Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner

Use a cotton pad for application

Step 4: Essence

Hybrid between a toner and a serum its made to hyrdrate and for skin repair

Using: Skinfood Tomato Whitening Essence

I’ve had a difficult time understanding the difference between emulsion and essence but to my understanding essence, serum and emulsion are somewhat the same thing and the difference is in texture and ingredient concentration (?)

Step 5: Serum/ Ampoule

like essence, but with more concentrated ingredients.

Using: Skinfood Peach Sake Serum

Step 6: Mask Sheet

Should be done once or 2x a week for that extra boost your skin needs

Using:Tony Moly Mask Sheet Bundle

*Step 7: Eye Cream

I decided to skip this step and continue using my Clinique All About Eyes Moisturizer since it works well for me

Step 8: Emulsion

Light-weight and non-sticky water based moisturizer

Using: Skin Food Peach Sake Emulsion

*Step 9: Night Cream

My L’oreal Dark Spot Corrector Moisturizer  works well with my so I’ve included it into the regimen instead

Step 10: Sleeping Pack / Sleeping Mask

Using: Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack

So far, these are the basics of it (for the night time routine) and the products i’m currently using to follow these steps – I do have quite a few favorites! but, still confused on the amount of moisturizers used and the different names they have for each moisturizer which confused the hell out of me (seriously though, from step 4- step 10 are all moisturizers)  but it definitely explains why the appearance of my skin has improves e.g pores are much less visible + skin is softer

P.S This is the night time 10-step regimen which is kind of the same thing but if you want to see how the day time regimen looks like:

💙 I’ll be posting my final review in a few weeks so stay posted! 💙

Thank you so much for posting this. Most of the websites were stating the commercially marketed brands but you have written the korean brands/products. I was searching for this. Any suggestions for Combination+sensitive skin?

    Thank you once again!

Hey Sazz, Thanks for reading & you’re very welcome!

I would definitely recommend Skinfood as all of their products (esp. their masks) are natural and very gentle on the skin. Their Skin food Rice Wash off Brightening Mask is currently my favorite (https://www.amazon.com/Skin-Food-Rice-Mask-Wash/dp/B004FKNYWW?th=1)
